Dear Parents and Guardians of St Pauls Primary School Today, outside St Paul’s Primary School, several vehicles were left in a manner that created significant danger and serious obstruction, including: Blocking live traffic lanes and school access gates/emergency exitsMounting and damaging pavements and grass vergesStopping on keep-clear/zig-zag markings and obstructing crossingsBlocking pedestrian routesThis behaviour puts children and families at risk, delays emergency access, and causes damage to the local area. What happens next We recorded photographs and details of vehicles involved today. Where appropriate and lawful, the following enforcement actions may be taken: Fixed Penalty Notices for obstruction or prohibited stoppingNotices of Intended Prosecution (NIP) sent by post to the registered keeper, where applicableSection 59 (Police Reform Act 2002) warnings where the manner of driving meets the legal threshold (e.g., mounting pavements/verges or driving inconsiderately); repeat breaches can lead to vehicle seizureImmediate removal of vehicles causing a dangerous or serious obstruction. What we need you to do — every time: Do not stop on zigzags, school keep-clear markings, or across entrances/gatesDo not park on pavements or grass verges (this endangers pedestrians and damages the surface)Do not block lanes, driveways, crossings, or traffic flow (even “just for a minute”)Use safer alternatives: park legally a few streets away, arrive earlier, car-share, or walk/scoot/cycle where possibleThank you to the many families who park safely and considerately every day. We need everyone to do the right thing so that all children can arrive and leave school safely.
